How? You make it sound just as if this is possible from the instance generation alone. The problem depends on the massive gulf in player kill speed and movement speed.

Most on the bad alterations in 3.0.0 (like Strand) were Cheap POE Items a consequence of nerfs geared towards extreme movement speed builds that will kill entire screens because they move.

Those builds benefit disproportionately from linear maps simply because POE Currency spend practically little time actually DPSing monsters. Those were those getting outlier XP/hr.

I also hope the dev team is doing something about how precisely maps drop, considering that the current system ensures that PoE will likely be perpetually condemned to your tiny quantity of maps being considered as "viable."
