That is 1 issue that's likely to reoccur, and that's why I'm not terribly comfortable waxing poetic about the superb nature of the Classic community. It's not because people aren't being helpful; they are. It's because some of the changes that Blizzard put to the game between Vanilla and Battle for Azeroth may have diminished the community bonds of the game, but they had been changes Blizzard made to try and encourage what many players themselves said they desired. Yes, there were players that were against those changes. Every expansion of WoW has made important changes to the game mechanics.

The social dynamics of WoW changed when cross-server battlegrounds went (I had been creating my run for Commander in the time). When multi-queue battlegrounds moved in they shifted. When the LFR and LFG tools were put into the match, they changed. There are people who favored if you paid them to buy wow gold classic to do it that the dynamics of this sport in Vanilla and individuals enjoying Battle now who wouldn't return to Vanilla.
