Though he spent five years at Calabar High School, Darnell Lemuel never graduated from his alma mater. It is something he regrets.

“If I did (graduate), I don’t think I woulda end up in the streets doing nothing. It’s a good thing to graduate,” he said.

He actually recorded the song two years ago but recently began promoting it. The message is timeless, Semi Matic points out.

“In time, the youths will learn how important it is to have a graduation certificate. It help when yuh looking a job...people like to see that,” he said.

Semi Matic migrated to the United States shortly after leaving Calabar. He has lived in New York City for over 10 years, and began recording in 2009.
