It's difficult to be enticed to play SoM, on one hand it's probably going to have players that base servers aren't. It's also the ultimate cash-grab experience. It is easy to see the numbers on Twitch, and the huge server problems at the time of launch. Seasons Of Mastery will not pull a lot of new players to WoW. Classic+ would be a good choice. Even today, RuneScape's old school is being played by new players. It's also an old game that's why, now that they've updated it, players aren't feeling like they're losing their time.

It's not in the hundreds of millions for classical+. In reality, just tier sets off meta specs would be sufficient. Making new items from bosses does not require a lot of work.
